India, today succesfully launched its first unmanned mission to the moon, Chandrayaan-I. Good for India, but I can't help feeling a little jealous. The top story in today's newspapers here are about an uppity hockey mom's expensive wardrobe. What is NASA doing these days anyway? Actually, NASA’s Interstellar Boundary Explorer (IBEX) mission was successfully launched into space to explore the outer reaches of our solar system, just last week. But nobody I talked to today even knows about it. It's hard to compete against sexy shoes for news space.
